Help out at the 2026 Texas NASP State Tournament! March 20th and 21st, 2026Multiple shift options available---1/2 day or full day. No experience required, but is always welcome! Volunteers to assist with any aspect of the tournament---Lane Officials/Line Judge, registration check-in, set-up and take-down and more. Approximately 5000 students will participate and shoot throughout the 2 days.

Texas Wildlife Association's Adult Learn to Hunt Program focuses on introducing novice hunters interested in forging a connection between conservation, hunting and sustainable eating. Participants will also learn valuable skills related to skinning, butchering and cooking techniques associated with wild game. Upon applying to the program, applications will be reviewed, and hunters will be contacted once chosen to participate.

In exchange for 24-32 hours per week, Park Hosts are provided with a 50 amp sewer, water and electric campsite. Interpretive Center Docents Needed! The Historic Golf Shelter finally has it's exhibits in place and is open for visitors to enjoy! As an Interpretive Center Docent, you will be the friendly face that greets visitors as they come in the door, briefly explain the lay out of the interpretive center, be there to answer any questions they may have and guide their park visit by suggesting trails and sites to visit. Do not sign up for a shift until you have gone through the Interpretive Center Training.After you've received training, you can sign up for a shift. Each shift is 2 hrs in length. If you'd like to sign up for multiple shifts in a row, feel free to! If you miss the training date and would still like to volunteer, please email madalyn.miller@tpwd.texas.govYou will shadow a trained volunteer for three shifts; one opening shift, one middle shift, and one closing shift. If you feel comfortable with the duties after the three shadowing shifts, you can sign up for a shift on your own.

Looking for a way to get more involved in your State Park? Join our Friends group to help make a positive difference at Bastrop and Buescher State Parks!Friends of the Lost Pines State Parks is a 501(c)(3) non-profit volunteer group that helps support the park in multiple ways. The purpose of Friends is to assist park staff in the management and conservation of the natural and cultural resources of Bastrop and Buescher State Parks, for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.Friends' support the parks by providing information about the Parks and their resources to the public; assisting and educating visitors to the Parks; fund-raising to support special projects or general operations for the Parks; and, other activities which contribute to the care and conservation of the Parks.All the money that is raised by the Friends' goes directly back into supporting the parks. Friends' fundraise money through firewood sales in both parks, canoe rentals at Buescher, Friends' membership dues and through donations. The Buffalo Soldier Heritage and Outreach program is looking for you. The Texas Buffalo Soldiers program provides educational experiences that connect underrepresented populations with the outdoors through interpretive story telling of the Buffalo Soldiers, the country's first professional African American soldiers. The Texas Buffalo Solders program brings history to life with stories, costumes and tools. At one of our programs, you can learn how to track an animal, and fish with a cane pole. Overview: Caddo Lake State Park is looking for friendly, motivated and energetic Park Hosts. As a Park Host, you will support TPWD's mission by assisting with the day-to-day functions of the park and providing outstanding customer service to park visitors, maintaining the cleanliness of park grounds and facilities, and supporting basic maintenance needs.
Field Duties Include: This position assists park maintenance staff with day to day operations of a state park. Duties may include maintaining the cleanliness of assigned areas; keeping assigned bathrooms cleaned and stocked; maintaining and cleaning assigned camp loops; operating mowers, weed-eaters; other duties as assigned by maintenance specialist or volunteer supervisor. Park hosts may be asked to assist at Park HQ on a limited basis. Position requires standing for long periods of time, carrying, and walking. Shifts may vary, primarily daytime.
Required Qualifications: Must be 18 years or older. Experience with customer service and ability to effectively communicate with public, other volunteers, and staff; experience with basic maintenance and custodial tasks; criminal background check required.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience using hand tools and basic maintenance equipment; money handling experience
Time Commitment and Benefits: In exchange for a minimum of 24 volunteer hours per week, you are provided with a 50 amp full hook-up campsite. Park Hosts must commit to a minimum one-month stay, though priority will be given to those who can stay three to six months. All training and equipment will be provided. You also receive the opportunity to play a critical role in the conservation and stewardship of the natural and cultural resources of Texas!

The volunteer State Park Police Career Opportunity Program (COP) will provide an opportunity for approved individuals with a demonstrated or sincere interest in conservation law enforcement to gain career or operational knowledge of the State Park Police occupation.Minimum Requirements: COP volunteers must have a minimum of 60 completed semester credit hours from a college or university.Below are the rider rules for this program. By signing up for this opportunity, you signify that you have read the rules and agree to follow them during your time with this program.Dress Code for Texas Parks & Wildlife Department Observers1. TPWD observers are to dress neatly and conservatively. No Blue jeans of any kind.2. Cleanliness is required at all times.3. Hair and facial hair must be well groomed.4. Shorts and cut-offs are prohibited.5. Clothing bearing any sign or symbol that advertises any product, business or organization will not be permitted.6. Clothing with offensive designs, logos, letters or devices is prohibited.7. Conservative type shoes or boots may be worn; sandals and bare feet are prohibited.Prohibited Acts:1. Will not consume alcoholic beverages prior to and during tours of duty.2. Will not use profane or abusive language during the tour of duty.3. Will not engage in excessive conversation, which may distract the Officer or interfere with hearing the police radio.4. Will not make remarks or voice opinions to complainants, witnesses, victims, violators, or suspects in any manner, which would tend to provoke or degrade anyone or escalate tension.5. Will not be allowed into a private residence during the execution of a search or arrest warrant.6. Will not make known to any unauthorized person, information that may compromise a police operation, procedure or investigation that is either in progress or proposed.7. Will not make known to unauthorized persons the identity of persons arrested, persons being confined in jail, or suspects in a criminal act.8. Will not use information learned during a tour of duty for personal gain.9. Will not carry weapons of any type. Observers possessing a license to carry a weapon will NOT be allowed to carry a weapon during a tour of duty.10. Non-sworn observers do not have any powers of an Officer and have no authority except when acting at the direction of an Officer.Texas Parks & Wildlife Department Observers Will:1. At all times conduct themselves with proper decorum.2. Remain in the police unit during routine traffic stops unless otherwise instructed by the Officer.3. Remain in or near the TPWD patrol unit during disturbance calls and calls of a serious nature to summon assistance by radio if needed, unless otherwise instructed by an Officer.

Visitor activities are focused in and around the park's 80 acre lake with swimming, boating and fishing activities. Hiking around the lake on the Rustling Leaves Trail or reaching the summit on the Mountain View Trail are also important visitor activities. The rich and varied park will recharge you during you Park Hosting adventure.
Park Hosts at Daingerfield State Park join a committed team of professionals whose goal is to provide visitors with a superior outdoor experience, interpreting the natural world and conserving the park's natural and cultural heritage for present and future generations to love and cherish.
Park Host sites at Daingerfield State Park can accommodate a wide variety of RV's with 50/30 Amp full hook-up and 30 Amp full hook-up sites. The park has excellent cell phone coverage with Verizon & AT&T and has Wi-Fi connectivity within portions the park. A washer and dryer is available on site for your use.
We require a minimum 25 hours per site of assigned work per week for our Park Hosts. We understand that each Park Host has different skill sets and our goal is to match you with your skills and passions. Park Host duties at Daingerfield State Park are varied but may include the following:

Assists the general public and organized groups that come to our center to enjoy a day of fishing. Examples of some duties performed include: greeting the public, delivering safety and fishing orientations, preparing bait, repairing rods and reels, removing fish hooks, and recording attendace data. Volunteers assist fisheries biologist on various freshwater habitat improvements in Texas. These efforts support improving fisheries throughout the state. Various opportunities will be depicted by date and shifts.
