Are you looking for a unique and fun way to volunteer at one of the most beloved State Parks in Texas? Then this opportunity may be for you! Work in the historic CCC boathouse on the shores of the 215 acre Lake Raven, assisting visitors with boat rentals, and issuing rental equipment. Help launch, dock and maintain paddle boats, kayaks and canoes. Assist customers at Gator Junction, our park store, offering supplies, souvenirs and tasty snacks including Blue Bell ice cream! Other duties include cleaning and stocking park store with merchandise, operating a cash register, assisting with inventory and maintaining rental equipment and boats.
Please be advised! This is a physically demanding role that requires you to independently maneuver kayaks and canoes weighing up to 80 lbs, up and down a hill as well as safely pushing boats into the water on the shore line, with visitors on board. You must be capable of working outside in inclement weather including temperatures above 90 degrees and high humidity for long periods of time and on a daily basis.
Benefits include a full-hookup campsite at no cost to you, discounts on park merchandise and free laundry facilities in return for 24 hours a week of service or 32 hours a week combined, if co-hosting.
