Join our team to help protect this unique and fragile landscape, while providing positive experiences to our visitors.

We have 3 different park host assignments:

1. Interpretive - help create and deliver interpretive programs (birding, hikes, dark skies, Indian Lodge Tour, etc.), clean Interpretive Center, greet guests at Interpretive Center, work with kids on Junior Ranger program.

2. Maintenance - work on various projects (trails maintenance, bird blind maintenance, plumbing, electrical, building repair, sign painting, groundskeeping, etc.).

3. Customer Service - assist park HQ front desk staff (open/close office, manage cash drawer, sell day passes, check camping guests in, answer basic questions about park), assist Black Bear Restaurant staff (work cash register, bus tables, fill drinks at tables).

In addition to these tasks, park hosts are also asked to do the following duties:

- campground checks, bird feeding, light maintenance, grounds upkeep, and assist visitors with after hours check ins.

Minimum Commitment: 3 months. Work days/shifts may vary, but can usually be tailored to park host's schedule. 32/week/couple or 24 hrs/week/individual.

Requirements: Must be 18 or over. Pass a Criminal Background Check, ATV online training, Completion of Distracted Driving course. Volunteers will undergo an interview and reference checks. Park hosts are expected to help where & when needed, be flexible, be supportive of the team.

Please be advised that most of the park doesn't have cell service other than Verizon at HQ. Service is available on the top of Park Road 3A (Skyline Drive) or 4 miles away in Fort Davis. WiFi is usually available at several spots in the park.
