This volunteer opportunity is for a Basic Angler Education Course. It is reccomended but not required to become a certified angler instructor before attending this event. All volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
We will begin the day at the Gary Halter Nature Center in Lick Creek Park. The class will begin at 9 am, but we ask that volunteers arrive around 8am to help setup and prepare for the day.
Approximately half of the class time will be held in a covered outdoor area, so please dress appropriately. The instructional portion of the event will end around noon. We will then clean up and weather permitting move to the fishing portion of the event at Stephen C. Bechy Central Park. Fishing is scheduled to begin around 12:45 so it is best to bring a lunch that can be eaten quickly after cleanup or on the way to the next location. Fishing will conclude at 2pm afterwhich we will have a quick cleanup and debrief session.
Please contact the organizer, Brandon Roberts after selecting your shift: brangleredu@gmail.com
Please bring water, snacks and a lunch to eat on site. Expect to be outside about half the time and dress accordingly.
