If you love paddling and want to help others discover the coast from the water, this is your chance! • Assisting trained guides on public paddling trips

  • Talking with visitors in a friendly, informative way

  • Paddling for up to 2 hours in semiopen bay waters

  • Towing paddlers when needed

  • Learning and sharing info about local wildlife and habitats

  • Handling the physical demands of outdoor work

Volunteers receive training in:

  • Marsh and bay ecology

  • Interpretation and visitor engagement

  • The Galveston Island SP paddling trail

  • Safe paddling techniques and group management

What to Expect Outdoors

This is a true fieldbased role. You''ll be out in the elements—heat, humidity, sun, thorny plants, mosquitoes, and the occasional curious critter—so comfort with outdoor conditions is important.
