Sponsoring Program: Galveston Island State Park

Galveston Island State Park is seeking energetic, friendly Park Hosts to assist in all aspects of park operations. Previous Park Host experience preferred, but not required. Galveston Island State Park is open to the visiting public year round. Park Hosts should expect to work weekends and holidays. Hosts are a vital part of the park's operation. As Park Hosts, you will have the opportunity to meet new people and help visitors have a memorable experience. Park Hosts will assist park staff with the day-to-day operations of Galveston Island State Park.

Open positions: May-July(2025), August-November(2025), April-July (2026)
Minimum stay requirement: 3 months

Duties include:
- Campsite checks
- General cleaning of facilities (restrooms, campsites and cabins)
- Grounds maintenance, including but not limited to removing trash
- Assisting park staff by providing quality customer service
- Assisting Headquaters checking in guests in PBS system
- Various small projects as needed in the park
- Assist with park interpretive and outreach programs
- Assisting campers after hours

Two host sites are on the beachside in campgrounds and two sites are secluded on the bayside not in the campgrounds, all with full hookups. Laundry facilities available. Park prefers mail to be collected offsite. Previous Texas State Park Host experience and familiarity with Aspira/PBS preferred.

Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old. Criminal background checks are required for all persons living/staying in a Host site.
