Sponsoring Program: McKinney Falls State Park

The Smith Visitor Center reopened in August 2021 after being closed for 8 years from flood damage in 2013 and 2015! The Friends Group is helping the park run the Visitor Center during operating hours with volunteers manning the help desk. It's a fun opportunity to interact with visitors and help them learn about McKinney Falls! The Smith Visitor Center is open Friday-Sunday and shifts are 9am-12:30pm and 12:00pm-4:00pm. During their shift, volunteers will open/close the visitor center, re-stock the restrooms, man the front desk, and answer any questions from visitors about the park.

All volunteers will do a training shift with a current volunteer before signing up on their own. Once a volunteer has been trained they can sign up for any day(s) they would like on our Smith Visitor Center Volunteer Calendar.
