Lake Corpus Christi State Park - Education & Interpretive Volunteer

Sponsoring Program: Lake Corpus Christi State Park

Do you have a passion for nature and the outdoors? Do you love sharing your knowledge with others? If you enjoy talking and learning about nature and being outside in the beautiful South Texas Thornscrub, this is the opportunity for you!

Work with the Park Interpreter to present interpretive programs and create materials for our park visitors that will engage them in learning and caring for nature. Lake Corpus Christi State Park needs you and your skills and enthusiasm.

As an Education/Interpretive Volunteer you could share your passion by assisting with:
-programs for school groups, scouts, and other groups
-guided hikes and nature programs
-special events
-roving interpretation
-social media posts
-virtual programs and education
-maintaining interpretive elements such as gardens and trailheads

Please note that this is NOT a Park Host position, but a general volunteer position.

While anything can be learned, volunteers best suited for this position would have knowledge of the flora and fauna of the South Texas Thornscrub and/or man-made reservoir lake ecosystems, experience presenting to groups, and an ability to hike an easy/intermediate trail for 1-2 hours. There is the ability to make your own schedule and even create your own programs if desired.
