Sponsoring Program: Franklin Mountains State Park
Franklin Mountains State Park is looking for friendly, motivated and energetic volunteers to assist in the new visitor center. As a Visitor Center Volunteer, you will be a representative of Texas State Parks and provide administrative assistance, information to visitors, and roving interpretation.
Volunteer duties will include: Staffing the visitor center and checking in customers; answering phone calls; and providing general information and assistance to park visitors.
Requirements: Experience with customer service and ability to effectively communicate with public, other volunteers, and staff; essential job functions require sitting for long periods of time, carrying, walking, and standing; criminal background check clearance.
Benefits: In exchange for a minimum of 4 volunteer hours per month, you are provided with free park entrance on the day of volunteering, training in interpreting the parks natural and cultural resources, and behind the scenes work experience at a State Park. You also receive the opportunity to play a critical role in the conservation and stewardship of the natural and cultural resources of Texas!
