If you enjoy meeting new people and welcoming them to the special places in Texas, and being a part of a strong team, then the customer service park host opportunities at Martin Creek Lake State Park are for you!
As a front-line volunteer assisting staff, you will check-in day use visitors and campers as well as answer phone inquiries, visitor questions, help our guests with retail purchases in the headquarters store, and more. This opportunity also requires light cleaning of the headquarters building and restrooms.
Customer Service Hosts volunteer hours are flexible and are most needed on weekends and holidays.
Previous customer service/retail experience is welcome but not required. Our friendly staff is happy to provide training. Hosts provide excellent customer service, communicate effectively with the public, staff, and other stakeholders. Experience using computers, point-of-sales systems, and cash handling is beneficial, but not required. All you need is a willingness to learn.
Park hosts provide a minimum of 24 hours per week. The park provides a 50/30-amp full hook-up site in one of our camping loops. A criminal background check is required.
Martin Creek Lake State Park is nestled in the East Texas Pineywoods along the shores of Martin Creek Lake known for its excellent fishing. The park has 3 miles of hiking trails that provide amazing opportunities for wildlife viewing including white-tailed deer and over 200 species of birds.
The park is perfectly located to feel you are getting away from it all and has easy access to several nearby communities and cities providing opportunities for great shopping, dining, attractions, and entertainment.
