Fishing's Future Family Angler Education Event

Help families learn the basics of fishing at the Marine Development Center in Corpus Christi.

Preference for volunteers to be Angler Education Instructors or people who have experience fishing.

50+ families will be attending a fishing event at the TPWD Marine Development Center to learn the basics of fishing. Families will rotate through 4-5 stations (fishing equipment, fish identification and ecology, angling ethics, rules and regulations, and backyard bass (casting). After rotating through these stations, families will have the opportunity to fish in one of the hatchery's ponds. The station rotations will begin at 9:15 and end at 11:30. Fishing will take place from 11:30-12:45. The event will end at 1pm.

The Marine Development Center is a controlled access facility. In order to gain access, you will need to contact Paul Silva and provide him with your name and vehicle license so that information can be passed to the site security.
