2019 Goose Island State Park Interpretive Bird Host

Bird hosts needed for November - December 2019. Bird hosts lead public bird walks at Goose Island State Park. These walks typically take place Wednesday-Saturday mornings, and other days and times available at interpreters discretion. Bird host must be well-versed in bird identification by sight (and sound, preferrably). Park Hosts are required to complete 25 hours per week; this time commitment can be met by a single individual or shared between a couple. A one month minimum commitment is required.

Applicants should be experienced birders able to identify birds by sight, flight, and sound. Knowledge of Central & Mississippi Flyway species preferred. Bird walks last two or more hours and cover 2-4 miles, volunteers must be able to walk and stand for this duration through variable terrain and weather conditions.
