Davis Mountains State Park - Park Host #1 Interpretation - 2019

Join us as a volunteer park host and find magic in the Big Bend Region of Texas while helping to provide a memorable experience for our visitors. This park host position includes full hook-up site- sewer, water/50 amp, cable, picnic table.

Basic duties include: campground checks, bird blind feeding, light restroom and campgrounds maintenance, customer service. This host site involves assisting the park programming with 5 hours of interpretation/week in addition to regular duties. 30 hrs/week/couple, 25 hrs/week/individual

Regular schedule: 2 days on, 4 days off (may vary) Benefit: The knowledge that you are stewarding and protecting Texas State Parks for use today and by future generations. This position allows you to conduct some interpretive programs (experience in conducting programs is preferred) and allows for maintenance work as well. You can receive training in interpretation as needed, and access to resources and tools to continue to learn about the natural and cultural resources of the park. You can spend time in a beautiful place while assisting the park with critical operating duties. Volunteers are our greatest natural resource!

Requirements: Must be 18 or over Required: Criminal Background Check, ATV online training. Optional: Completion of Distracted Driving course. FYI- park does not have cell service other than Verizon booster at HQ. Service is available on the top of the mountain road or 4 miles away in Fort Davis. WIFI available but at times unreliable.
