Dinosaur Valley State Park - Park Host 2024-2025

Overview: We are looking for friendly, enthusiastic, and motivated Park Hosts to join the Dinosaur Valley Team! Our Park is home to 113-million-year-old, world class dinosaur tracks located in the Paluxy River and two Sinclair Dinosaur Statues from the 1964 World Fair. As a Park Host, you will serve as a valuable member of the Dinosaur Valley team by assisting with the day-to-day functions of the Park and providing outstanding customer service to park visitors.

Park Hosts assist park staff with various duties that include but aren't limited to:
- Morning and Evening Campground Checks
- Trash Pickup
- Fire-Ring Maintenance
- Restroom Cleaning
- Minor Construction Projects
- Vehicle Repair
- Collecting Fees at Our Headquarters
- Assisting with Schools Groups, Special Events, and Interpretive Programs.

Duties offered to Park Hosts are dependent on Park needs and skills of the volunteer.

Required Qualifications: Must be 18 years or older. A criminal background check is required.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with customer service and ability to effectively communicate with the public, other volunteers, and staff. Experience with basic maintenance and custodial tasks in state parks or other camping facilities. A commitment to protecting the Park''s natural and cultural resources and educating visitors on their part in conservation of those resources.

Time Commitment and Benefits: Park Hosts must commit to a minimum stay of 3 months and a minimum of 24 hours service per week. Hosts will need to provide their own living quarters but have onsite access to a washer and dryer. In exchange for your time and volunteer service, Park Hosts will have full RV hookups at their site (water, electric, and sewer) and have (2) 30-amp and (2) 50-amp site options for your stay. Be aware that cell phone coverage is not strong in our camping loop; Verizon has the best service in the Park.

Dinosaur Valley State Park is located in Glen Rose, which is situated 1.5 hours south of the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The town is known as the Dinosaur and Bluegrass Capital of Texas. Travel & Leisure Magazine says it is one of the "Top-ten great weekend getaways in America." The square is home to several boutiques, antique shops, an old fashioned soda shop, great local eateries, and more! Other attractions in the area include Dinosaur World, Fossil Rim Wildlife Reserve, The Promise Play (Sept-Oct only), the Creation Evidence Museum, Lake Granbury, and the Cleburne Railroaders stadium.
