Copper Breaks State Park - General Volunteer

Sponsoring Program: Copper Breaks State Park

Work with park staff under the direction of the volunteer coordinator on a variety of projects including trail maintenance, lake litter control, park litter control, assisting with park interpretation (education), minor maintenance projects, and assist with special events. This role is usually 90% outdoor work in changing Texas weather conditions. We will provide training. Once you are trained you will typically work alone or in small groups. This is a year round opportunity. Whether you want to help one hour or one hundred hours there is an opportunity for you at Copper Breaks.

Copper Breaks State Park is 1,899 acres located 12 miles south of Quanah and 9 miles north of Crowell off State Highway 6 in Hardeman County.

Copper Breaks State Park is a designated dark sky park for stargazing. The park offers trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding, fishing in Lake Copper Breaks or Big Pond, kayaking/canoeing on Lake Copper Breaks. A portion of the official Texas Longhorn herd roams in areas of the park, giving visitors a chance to experience this Texas legend.
