Sponsoring Program: Mission Tejas State Park
This unique volunteer opportunity is for students associated with the Stephen F. Austin State University forestry program. Students may sign up for this volunteer opportunity in order to help meet the required volunteer hours for certain classes and student organizations.
Student volunteers will be assigned to various roles and projects in the park throughout the semester depending on the needs of park.
Opportunities will include but not be limited to, trail maintenance, campsite maintenance, upkeep and maintenance of the geocaching program, maintenance and preparation of fire lanes for upcoming prescribed burn, create inventory of tree and plant species in the park, create dialog for new interpretive signs, revamp current interpretive panels, small projects requiring woodworking skills, and other projects as opportunities present themselves.
We provide all the tools and safety gear but you are always welcome to bring your own gloves and safety glasses.
Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old. Criminal Background Checks are required for all persons.
