Sponsoring Program: Hueco Tanks State Park and Historic Site
Join the Hueco Tanks team as an Interpretive Volunteer and play a vital role in connecting our community with the wonders of nature, history, and culture. As an Interpretive Volunteer, you will have the unique opportunity to engage visitors both on-site during events and projects, as well as off-site through outreach events and remote projects.
1. On-Site Events and Projects:
- Assist staff in organizing and implementing on-site interpretive programs, events, and projects.
- Engage visitors through interactive activities and demonstrations.
- Contribute to the development of interpretive materials and displays.
2. Off-Site Outreach Events:
- Represent Hueco Tanks State Park and Historic Site at community events, fairs, and festivals.
- Conduct outreach activities to promote awareness and participation.
- Deliver engaging presentations and demonstrations to diverse groups.
- Provide information and resources to encourage visitation.
3. Remote Projects:
- Contribute to the development of virtual interpretive content, such as videos, photos, and online resources.
- Collaborate with the outreach team to create engaging remote experiences.
Qualifications:
- Enthusiasm for the mission of Hueco Tanks and a passion for interpretation and education.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to different environments and engage diverse audiences.
- Comfortable with on-site or remote/virtual platforms.
- Willingness to undergo training on interpretive techniques and subject matter.
Time Commitment:
Flexible hours based on events and projects.
