Sponsoring Program: Resaca de la Palma State Park
Park Hosts assist with daily operations at Resaca de la Palma State Park. Duties may include, but are not limited to: developing and executing interpretive programs (Tram Tours, Bird Walk, Butterfly Walk, Nature Hike, Night Hike, and Astronomy in the Park), assisting with special events (Jolly Night Hike and Winter Texan Appreciation Day), providing quality customer service, answering phones, collecting park fees, operating cash register, re-stocking merchandise, interacting with a large number of visitors, conducting maintenance of interpretive exhibits and materials, general maintenance of grounds and facilities, and supporting the mission of TPWD to educate our guests on conservation and protection of resources and wildlife
In addition, any special skills in education, outreach, interpretation, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, bicycle repair or other maintenance areas are appreciated. In exchange for 32 hours of service per week, hosts are provided with a full hook-up campsite with water, electricity, and sewer hookups. Free Wi-Fi is available in the park.
The minimum volunteer term is three months. Criminal Background Check required
