Mission Tejas State Park - Interpretive Programs Volunteer

Sponsoring Program: Mission Tejas State Park

Mission Tejas State Park is seeking enthusiastic, friendly, and outgoing individuals to assist the park with Interpretive (Ranger) programs. Opportunities to lead nature walks, history hikes, and various other programs are always here at MTSP! Interpretive Volunteers can also assist with outdoor educational events such as archery, fishing, and geocaching. There is also a need for assistance with school fieldtrips throughout the year.

Preferred experience includes some knowledge of flora and fauna indigenous to the Pineywoods region of Texas, or the desire and willingness to learn. Experience presenting to groups and ability to hike trail for 1-2 hours at a time is great, but can be gained on-site. Most programs take place on weekends at various times. You can make your own schedule, and even create and present your own programs if desired!

Please consider a fulfilling opportunity giving back to our community by joining the Mission Tejas State Park team!

Contact the park at 936-687-2394 if you have any questions or if you would like assistance applying. We may be out in the park working so please leave a message if you get our answering machine. Follow-up emails directed to Jared.Shamburger@tpwd.texas.gov are encouraged.
