Sponsoring Program: Texas Outdoor Family
The Texas Outdoor Family (TOF) program helps introduce families to a great camping experience in Houston Area State Parks. Workshop volunteers help in many capacities including assisting with nature hikes, kayaking, fishing, camping gear distribution, geocaching, taking photos, safety management, and more. Volunteer shifts begin Saturday morning at 8:00 AM and continue until Noon on Sunday with an overnight stay at the park. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own camping equipment. Once a shift is approved weekend details will be emailed to you.

If you hope to camp overnight with the program it is preferrable, but not mandatory, to have your own tent and bedding. A campsite will be provided to you if you volunteer for 8+ hours during the event. If you do not have the necessary equipment, please coordinate with your point of contact before the event so they can bring additional supplies. Volunteers working at least 8 hours during the weekend may also camp on Friday nights.
