Sponsoring Program: Lake Livingston State Park
This position assists the park headquarters staff by answering telephones, answering questions from customers, and by helping with office tasks such as organizing, filing, etc. This position may be asked to perform other administrative tasks and to assist with visitor surveys, and assist visitors with use of self pay station. This position may also include assisting with mgmt of the park store including inventory, ordering materials, and sales. Shifts depend on season and park need and may include regular business hours or nights and weekends.
Lake Livingston State Park is located in Polk County on the southeast edge of Lake Livingston, an 84,000 acre reservoir. The site is popular with fishermen angling for Crappie, Catfish, and Black, White, and Striped Bass. The park is heavily wooded away from the shore, and is home to approximately 300 species of native and migratory birds. All park host sites are equipped with 30 and 50 amp electrical, water, and sewer. Wi-fi is also available within the park. Park hosts must commit to a minimum of a one-month stay, though interested hosts are encouraged to stay for up to six months. Host positions are available year round.
