Sponsoring Program: Lake Livingston State Park
This position assists park staff with complex repairs, new construction, and routine maintenance. Prefer experience in one or more of the following areas: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, vehicle maintenance and repair, and small engine diagnostics and repair. Shifts will be based on skills and park needs, but always include one Saturday or Sunday per week.
Lake Livingston State Park is located in Polk County on the southeast edge of Lake Livingston, an 84,000 acre reservoir. The site is popular with fishermen angling for Crappie, Catfish, and Black, White, and Striped Bass. The park is heavily wooded away from the shore, and is home to approximately 300 species of native and migratory birds. All Park Host sites are equipped with 30 and 50 amp electrical, water, and sewer. Wi-fi is also available within the park. Park Hosts must commit to a minimum of a one-month stay, though interested hosts are encouraged to stay for up to six months. Host positions are available year round.
