We train twice per year in February and September. However, this year we will postpone the September training due to staffng constraints. Your application will be considered for the February 2018 class.

Volunteering involves customer service, formal interpretation (present programs/hikes), informal interpretation (staffing nature center and roving trails on weekends/holidays), operation of non-profit gift shop, minimum hourly requirements, flexible schedule, training required.

Brazos Bend State Park is located approximately 1 hour SW of downtown Houston. The park consists of 5000 acres of pristine forest, wetland, and coastal prairie habitat. Brazos Bend is one of the department's busiest camping and day-use parks. www.brazosbend.org

Interested volunteers will be required to attend 3 consective Saturday classroom trainings followed by aproximately 36 hours of hands-on, assisted training before one becomes a member. Training offered twice per year in February and September. Minimum quarterly and annual requirement. Other than the classroom training, volunteer schedule is flexible.
