Sponsoring Program: Washington-on-the-Brazos SHS

Park Host at the site where Texas became Texas! This sleepy site on the bluffs above the Brazos river preserves the site where Texans declared independence from Mexico in 1836.
Volunteer opportunities include:
-visitor orientation/greeting
-ticket and gift shop sales
-leading interpretive programs/tours at Independence Hall and Washington Townsite
-living history opportunities at Barrington Living History Farm
-ticket and gift shop sales
-Maintenance and grounds work 

We have plenty of opportunties available. Our goal is to best match your interests and skills with the needs of the park.

We have a vary unique park with many different opportunities from interpretive, to maintenance to gift shop work. Our complex consists of Fanthorp Inn (an 1830s-60s stagecoach inn in Anderson), Barrington Farm (an 1840s-50s cotton farm at the main complex in Washington), our main Visitors Center /Giftshop and the reason the park is here, Independence Hall and the Washington Townsite (both at the main complex in Washington).
