Volunteer at beautiful LBJ State Park and Historic Site! Volunteers can assist in various areas of our operation.
SAUER-BECKMANN LIVING HISTORY FARM:
Farm volunteers can assist in a wide variety of areas.
Opportunities include:
- Interpretation (including informal visitor contacts, school groups, or formal tours)
- Assisting with special events
- Cooking over a wood-burning stove
- Blacksmithing
- Sewing (clothes, aprons, quilts, etc)
- Knitting
- Gardening
- Animal care
- Behind the scenes maintenance, organization, administrative support
- AND MORE!
Volunteers do not need prior experience in any of these areas, though that is desirable! Staff will provide training and support.
MAINTENANCE:
Maintenance volunteers help staff keep the park beautiful!
Opportunities include:
- Trail maintenance
- Painting
- Minor repairs
- Landscaping & gardening
- Carpentry
- Plumbing
- AND MORE!
Other projects can vary depending on the park's current needs and the skills of the volunteer.
PARK STORE/VISITOR CENTER
Visitor center volunteers assist our Customer Service team with desk & park store operations.
Opportunities include:
- Customer service
- Interpretation
- Decorating
- Inventory & tagging of goods
- Organization
- AND MORE!
Upon signing up, please e-mail Nina Cardenas with details about which area you are interested in volunteering in.
We prefer volunteers to commit to at least 10 hours per month. Additional help may be requested for special events. Criminal background check required.
