Sponsoring Program: LBJ State Park & Historic Site (includes Sauer Beckmann Living History Farm)
Live & work in the beautiful Texas Hill Country! LBJ State Park & Historic Site is located in Stonewall, Texas, between Johnson City & Fredericksburg on HWY290. We are a day-use only park. The park is home to the Sauer-Beckmann Farm, a swimming pool, part of the Texas Longhorn herd, a bison herd, historic cabins, & 2.5 miles of trails. We are located across the Pedernales River from the LBJ Ranch.
Park Hosts can assist in various areas of our operation.
SAUER-BECKMANN LIVING HISTORY FARM:
Opportunities include:
- Interpretation
- Assisting with special events
- Cooking over a wood-burning stove
- Blacksmithing
- Sewing
- Knitting
- Gardening
- Animal care
- Behind the scenes maintenance, organization, etc
- AND MORE!
MAINTENANCE:
Opportunities include:
- Trail maintenance
- Maintenance of rental facilities
- Painting
- Minor repairs
- Landscaping & gardening
- Carpentry
- Plumbing
- AND MORE!
Other projects can vary depending on the park's current needs and the skills of the volunteer.
PARK STORE/VISITOR CENTER
Opportunities include:
- Customer service
- Fee collection
- Interpretation
- Decorating
- Inventory & tagging of goods
- Organization
- AND MORE!
In exchange for 24 hrs per week per site, Park Hosts are given a full hook up RV site. Hosts generally work three days a week on either a Sun - Tues or Thurs - Sat schedule. We require a two month minimum stay. First time Hosts are limited to three months. There may be times where additional hours are required (during special events, for example).

June - December (all sections - no farm availability for November - December)
Please note that specific RV sites & schedules cannot be guaranteed due to changing needs of the park, but we do our best to accommodate requests.
