Sponsoring Program: Lake Livingston State Park
Work with park staff under the direction of the park volunteer coordinator on a variety of natural resource based projects including trail maintenance, assisting with park interpretation (education), and maintaing wildscapes and gardens. This role is usually 90% outdoor work in changing Texas weather conditions, often on a trail. We will provide training. Once you are trained you will typically work alone or on small groups.
Lake Livingston State Park is located in Polk County on the southeast edge of Lake Livingston, an 84,000 acre reservoir. The site is popular with fishermen angling for Crappie, Catfish, and Black, White, and Striped Bass. The park is heavily wooded away from the shore, and is home to over 300 species of native and migratory birds.
Please contact the park at 936-365-2201, if you have any questions or if you would like assistance applying. Follow-up emails directed to joseph.green@tpwd.texas.gov are encouraged.
Volunteers must pass a criminal background check.
